13 Dec 1918: Heading home

Friday December 13th.     Finally left Graudenz by train at midnight on this day.  Here’s the Naval Officer’s account (see my diary entries for December 10th and December 12th):

At midnight on December 13 the camp was evacuated, and after a most trying and miserable train journey of 13 hours we arrived at Neufahrwasser, embarked in the Danish transport Mitau, and left for Leith. I rejoined my ship at Copenhagen.
